"Procession of the cross"

La Confraternita di Maria Santissima del Carmine went to the Mother Church in the morning to receive Easter. The brothers moved in procession starting from their Church arranged in pairs and with their head and faces covered with white pointed hoods.
Along the way they sang an ancient song: "The sore sinner"
There was the blessing of olive branches and Mass. Olive branches were also blessed in Via Roma.
After the service the brothers, always masked, returned to the Church of the Madonna del Carmine. This time, happy and serene, singing another song called "What a blessed day".
This was the first appearance of the Cross of the Mysteries, bearing symbols of the Passion of Christ which opens all the Holy Week processions.
